INTERNATIONAL BASKETBALL PLAYER, EMMA PASS, VISITS
OADBY SPORTS PROGRAMME
International basketball player, Emma Pass, provided a coaching session for local children as part of our sports programme to encourage more youngsters to get active.
Working in partnership with Parklands Leisure Centre, our successful programme was organised to coincide with the 2008 February half term school holiday. Over forty children were able to participate in a number of different sports including athletics, badminton, basketball, cricket, football and rounders. Information about how to join one of the many local sports clubs was distributed throughout the week to encourage further participation.
The Deputy Mayor of Oadby and Wigston, Councillor Jill Gore, attended the final day of the programme to present certificates and prizes.
