Oadby & Wigston's 2007 Youth Games Squad
2007 Results:
This year 170 participants, coaches, teachers and volunteers represented our borough in the 2007 Youth Games finals at Loughborough University in June, including school based teams from Bushloe High School, South Wigston High School, Glenmere Primary School and St. John Fisher Primary School.
The Youth Games is an annual sports tournament which involves all nine districts within Leicestershire and Rutland competing against each other.
The Oadby and Wigston team produced some outstanding results. Our Year 6 girls' football team became the Leicestershire Champions in the football tournament, represented by the team from South Wigston High School. The borough's Year 5/6 basketball team also achieved top honours by winning the overall basketball title, represented by Glenmere Primary School and the borough's representative Athletics team also finished in first place in the Games. Other notable performances include:
Girls Netball - Runner up
Girls Year 7 Basketball - 3rd place
Boys Year 7 Basketball - 4th place
Girls Year 7 Football (Bushloe High School) - 4th place
