Parking in the Borough
From July 2007, Leicestershire County Council, working with all Leicestershire districts, has taken responsibility from the police for enforcement of parking restrictions on County roads and car parks.

Car park fines
If you do not follow the rules of the car park you may be fined with a fixed penalty notice. The car park rules are displayed on notice boards within all the controlled car parks. The notices are issued by Car Park Attendants who patrol the car parks between 8.00.a.m. and 6.00 p.m. Monday to Saturday.
The fixed penalty notice fine is £60.00p. If you receive a fixed penalty notice fine it must be paid within 30 days of the date of issue. If you pay within 14 days of the date of issue the fine is reduced to £30.00p.
On street parking fines
If you park in a manner not in accordance with the traffic regulations you may receive a fixed penalty notice fine of £60.00p. If you receive a fixed penalty notice fine it must be paid within 30 days of the date of issue. If you pay within 7 days of the date of issue the fine is reduced to £30.00p.
Appeals and payment
Appeals and payments are now handled by Leicestershire County Council.
