East Midlands in Bloom results 2008

Members of Pride of the Borough attended the regional awards ceremony held in Nottingham Council House on 10th September 2008 and returned loaded with awards!

We achieved a Silver Gilt award, and second place, for our entry into the Small Cities category.  At the awards ceremony held in Nottingham we have once again achieved a Silver Gilt award in our category.

Residents of Wickham Road have received a judges award for their work on restoring the open space.  Cromwell Tools and South Wigston High School represented the borough in the regional Best Business Premises and Best School Garden categories respectively. They both received very commendable Silver Gilt awards.

East Midlands in Bloom

East Midlands in Bloom is part of the national Britain in Bloom competition.  Oadby and Wigston's entry is organised in conjunction with us by Pride of the Borough group.   Further information can also be found on the East Midlands in Bloom |website.

Floral Displays

Seasonal floral displays in parks including the badge bed at Peace Memorial Park, cemeteries and the golf course are carried out by grounds maintenance.

Floral displays such as hanging baskets, troughs and tubs are organised by Client Services in conjunction with Pride of the Borough.

Sponsorship of these displays is becoming an increasingly popular way of businesses supporting the Borough’s entry into East Midlands in Bloom as well as improving the look of the Borough which in turn helps boost trade.

Available for sponsorship are hanging baskets, floral tubs and basket trees in each town centre, borough entrance signs as well as beds in parks.  Please download the sponsorship form from the attachment section above.
