A landscape architect has been commissioned to draw up a plan for the future development of William Gunning Park, Fairfield Estate, South Wigston.  The landscape architect's brief is to

  • plan the development of the park, to include a good range of facilities for the local community
  • increase the provision of sport and recreational facilities for the community
  • improve the physical layout of the park
  • ensure the park contributes to the green infrastructure and the biodiversity of the borough
  • improve public perception of safety and accessibility to a range of activities for all
  • undertake consultation with the local community regarding the proposals.

draft plan |has been drawn up based on previous public consultation and requests and we would now like to obtain your views on the landscape architect's proposals.

You are also welcome to attend an open public consultation event at Fairfield Community Primary School, Cheshire Drive, South Wigston, Leicestershire LE18 2WA on Thursday, 4 December 2009 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where more information will be available.

 

Your comments on the draft plan |are important as they will be used to determine the priorities for the park. Comments should be submitted by 15 December 2008. The final master plan which should be completed by the middle of January 2009.
