Bulky Waste Collection

Summary

We run a special collection service to collect bulky household waste items. Below is a list of the items that we collect and the standard charges for the collection.

Special collection service

The following items can be collected:-

1. doors that form part of an item of furniture
2. lawnmowers
3. vacuum cleaners
4. domestic furniture (including any wooden fitted furniture)
5. televisions
6. garden furniture
7. domestic carpets
8. stainless steel, plastic sinks 
9. fridge freezers, coolers
10. washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers
11. microwaves
12. beds, 3 piece suites
13. bags of smaller household items such as clothes, crockery, pots and pans.

Please note - bags need to be strong enough so items do not split when being taken to the vehicle.

 

Standard charges as of April 2010:-

• non electrical items £16.30p for the first one, followed by an additional £2.00p per item
• electrical items £16.30p for the first one, followed by an additional £3.10p per item
  

Loose wood, bulky garden material, dismantled garden sheds, window frames without glass and wooden garage doors will require an assessment.

 

Other information:-

• House improvement or building work related items such as building waste or replaced windows will not be collected.
• Broken glass must be supplied in a box.
• Bagged, boxed and tied waste will be classed as indvidual items.
• Sheds must be dismantled and each panel classed as an item.
• All items must be presented in a form that reasanobly facilitates loading and satisfies manual handling requirements failure to do so will result in a non-collection and payment refunded for those items not collected.
