How much plastic do we consume? A selection of various size and coloured plastic bottle

In the United Kingdom, a total of approximately 4.7 million tonnes of plastic products were used in various economic sectors in 2001. In the borough, approximately 290 tonnes of plastic bottles were recycled lin 2005.

There are no doubt more plastic bottles that people throw away in their refuse bins that can be recycled. All you have to do is place it in a green recycling bag instead of a black refuse bag.
