Summary

 

We are a Fourth-Option Council, which means that, with a population below 80,000, we have opted to retain a modified committee system with a Scrutiny function.

 

There are two main committees, two regulatory bodies, a Standards Committee and an Overview and Scrutiny Committee.

 

The Council and Committees meet in five cycles a year, details of which may be found in the following link - the Schedule of Meetings Dates.|

 

Membership of the Committees is determined each year at the Annual General Meeting| and the current composition of the committees is shown in this link - Committee Membership.|
