Abandoned Vehicles

Vehicles that have been abandoned by their owners are often left in an inconvenient place and can be a target for crime, including being set on fire.

We can deal with vehicles that are genuinely abandoned, that is where they have been left by their owners who have no intention of collecting them.

Where a vehicle is not 'abandoned' but is parked in a dangerous place or is being used without road tax, we work closely with the police and traffic wardens who have powers to deal with these situations.

For more information about our abandoned vehicle service, and how to recognise an abandoned vehicle, see our abandoned vehicles information| web page.

If you know of a vehicle you think may be abandoned and you would like us to investigate it, send us the details on the report an abandoned vehicle |page.
