Outline of the Food Law Enforcement Policy

Food Law Enforcement Policy

Summary

Information informing you the steps we take at Oadby and Wigston Borough Council to ensure that Food Safety Laws are followed within our area.

Policy Description

Our policy says that we use these laws to reduce the risks to the public from food-borne illness.

It tells you:-

  • what actions we may take
  • who decides exactly what we do
  • what they think about before deciding
  • what service you may expect from us
  • what we do to give everyone fair and equal treatment

In our policy we say we will:-

Set clear standards and be open, helpful and consistent.

Base our actions on how serious the risk is to public health.

Make it easy for you to complain if you are not happy with what we do.

It also helps us to achieve some of the Council's Visions and Values

The policy helps our work on 2 of the Council's priority areas:-

(1) Reducing Crime and Disorder
(2) Tackling Pollution
