Scores on the Doors
Scores on the doors is a scheme designed to allow public access to the star ratings awarded by environmental health officers to all catering premises.
Over time, this means that all pubs, restaurants, cafes, schools and care homes in our borough will be inspected and anyone can find out their star rating via the council's website.
Food businesses will also be encouraged to display on their premises a certificate showing their star rating.

Food Safety Enforcement
It is our responsibility to enforce food safety laws and regulations in our borough and in order to do this fairly, we have a set of guidelines that we follow. The guidelines are contained in our enforcement policies.

The Food Standards Agency
The Food Standards Agency is an independent food safety watchdog set up by an Act of Parliament in 2000 to protect the public's health and consumer interests in relation to food.
The agency sets a national plan which local councils help to deliver.
