Home Energy Efficiency

Summary

The aim of this service is to achieve and maintain the greatest sustainable levels of energy efficiency to all homes in the Borough.

Basic Procedures

To carry out this service, we do the following:-

  1. Promoting home energy efficiency measures.
  2. Supporting home insulation discount schemes.
  3. Working in partnership with others who can also offer home energy efficiency help and advice.

Under the Home Energy Conservation Act of 1995, we have a duty to achieve overall savings of 30% of carbon dioxide emissions from domestic homes.

In order to do this, we encourage all homeowners in the Borough to do 3 things:-

  1. Insulate your home to the highest possible standard.
  2. Operate and maintain an efficient heating system.
  3. Always use energy wisely.

If you would like to know more about these or any other matters relating to energy efficiency in the home,  contact Environmental Health|.
