Law Enforcement
We enforce many laws that contribute to maintaining the health and safety of people who live, work in or visit Oadby and Wigston.
They cover food safety, health and safety at work, housing conditions and general environmental protection.
It is important that we regulate businesses in Oadby and Wigston in a fair and consistent manner and to help us do this, we have some guidelines that we follow. These guidelines are contained in our enforcement policy |and the principles of good regulation.|

Our environmental health and licensing enforcement work is carried out in compliance with the Regulator's Compliance code,| which is a statutory code applying to the regulatory function of local authorities. It forms part of the government's better regulation agenda.

Annual work activity
Each year we publish an annual report of the work we carry out. This includes details of our consultation with customers and how we have performed against the various targets and standards we set ourselves.
