Summary

The Countryside and Biodiversity Service provides an input into the Forward Plans Team and specifically into the emerging Local Development Framework. Work which the Countryside and Biodiversity Service has undertaken is a Phase 1 Habitat Survey and Biodiversity Audit for the borough.

 

Phase 1 Habitat Survey and Biodiversity Audit

This provides the underlying baseline evidence of the type of habitats we have in the borough and the condition they are in. Based on national survey methodology, it is an assessment of the habitats within the landscape and the condition they are in.  Consultants undertook the fieldwork in September and October 2005, with the documents being published in December 2005.

 

The survey itself will serve as a baseline for the Sustainability Appraisal for the progress for the Local Development Framework and for a review of the Biodiversity Action Plan.
