Summary
The various costs for the different types of planning application provided by the Government through The Town and Country Planning (Fees for Applications and Deemed Applications) (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2005.
The Town and Country Planning (Fees for Applications and Deemed Applications) Regulations require local planning authorities to charge fees for planning, advertisement and other applications. The scales are therefore set by Central Government, not the Council. The appropriate fee must be submitted with the application.
There is a fee calculator |[External link] developed by the Planning Portal which can assist you by working out the cost of any particular planning application. It takes the form of a series of 'yes or no' answers from which data is compiled to calculate the total cost of the application. It ranges from a simple householder development to large scale schemes such as housing schemes or industrial estates.
