A conservation area appraisal and development control guidance has been drawn up for the Spa Lane Conservation Area. The appraisal reassesses the character of the area and notes any changes which may have occurred since its designation such as new development, changes to specific buildings and street scapes. Adopted Conservation Area Appraisal and Development Control Guidance

 

The Spa Lane Conservation Area Appraisal and Development Control Guidance were subject to public consultation from Tuesday, 11 July 2006 to Tuesday, 22 August 2006. After considering representations received the decision was made on 19 December 2006 to adopt the Appraisal, Development Control Guidance and amend the Conservation Area boundaries taking effect from Monday, 15 January 2007. 

 

Boundary amendments

The following properties have been included within the Conservation Area: Former Queens Head PH site, 2 Bull Head Street, St Wolstan’s House, St Wistan’s Church and Nos. 14-18 (evens) Glebe Close. The following property has been excluded from the Conservation Area: 2 Shearsby Close.

Conservation Area Appraisal

The Spa Lane Conservation Area Appraisal includes an overview of the area, a townscape analysis and identifies the key characteristics of the area and any opportunities for enhancement.
