Summary
A conservation area appraisal and development control guidance has been drawn up for the Oadby Hill Top and Meadowcourt Conservation Area. The appraisal reassesses the character of the area and notes any changes which may have occurred since its designation such as new development, changes to specific buildings and street scapes. The Development Control Guidance outlines the issues to be considered before submitting planning applications for works to their houses.

Amendments to the conservation area boundary
The Oadby Hill Top and Meadowcourt Conservation Area Appraisal and Development Control Guidance were subject to public consultation which took place from 25 April 2005 to 3 June 2005. After considering representations received as a result of this consultation the decision was made on 26 July 2005 to amend the Conservation Area boundaries.
Inclusions
On Manor Road, the properties known as Stoughton Leys, Bredon and Field House including their gardens and land to the rear (south) together with the Leicester University playing fields as far as and including the avenue of trees on the south side of Southmeads Road will be included within the Conservation Area.
Exclusions
The following properties have been excluded from the Conservation Area:
24 Stoughton Drive South, 26 Stoughton Drive South, 16 Sycamore Close, 7 St Davids Crescent, 10 St Davids Crescent, 34a Powys Avenue and the rear gardens of 11 to 15 The Broadway.
