Spa Lane Conservation Area was designated in 1989. The area includes Spa Lane and Mowsley End, together with the adjacent areas fronting Bull Head Street. Description

 

The area consists of mixed residential and industrial uses. Numbers 7 and 9 Spa Lane are listed buildings which were once occupied as a farmhouse while other buildings on Spa Lane exhibit long first storey windows which indicate that the buildings were used for framework knitting in the past. 

 

Conservation Area Appraisal and Development Control Guidance

 

An Appraisal and Development Control Guidance| has been prepared for the Spa Lane Conservation Area, this fulfils our duty to draw up and publish proposals for the preservation and enhancement of the area as required by the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990.

 

The documents were formally adopted on Monday, 15 January 2007.Spa Lane, Wigston

 

Statutory listed buildings within the conservation area

Spa Lane Conservation Area contains two listed buildings. These buildings are grade two (grade II) this means that the buildings are of special interest which warrants every effort being made to preserve them.
