Forward Plans Documents
The Forward Plans Documents| page provides an alphabetical listing of adopted and consultation draft documents produced by the Forward Plans Team.
Local Plan
The current Oadby and Wigston Local Plan| was adopted in October 1999, it contains policies and guidance on development within the borough. As a result of the Planning and Compulsory purchase Act 2004 a number of policies have been dropped from the Local Plan.
Local Development Framework
We have started to produce a Local Development Framework| which will replace the Local Plan. It will contain a portfolio of documents which will guide development to 2021.
Supplementary Planning Guidance
Under new Government legislation Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs)| are gradually replacing Supplementary Planning Guidance|.
Development briefs and policy statements
Development briefs and policy statements| explain in greater detail the proposed development of individual sites, groups of sites or further planning considerations for types of development.
Conservation Areas
Conservation areas| are areas of special architectural or historic interest, the character or appearance of which it is desirable to preserve or enhance. Conservation Area Appraisals| have been produced giving additional guidance.
Listed Buildings
A listed building| is a building or structure which is considered to be of special architectural or historic interest.
Planning policy framework
The planning system operates at different levels, when preparing local planning policies we are guided by a planning policy framework| which consists of national, regional and county policies.
