Summary
The Allocations Development Plan Document (DPD) is a compulsory document to be included within the Local Development Framework. The DPD will identify specific sites for particular uses which will deliver the Core Strategy| aims and vision. The content of this document will be reflected in the Proposals Map.
Step 1: Issues and Options
In January 2007 we invited individuals, groups and organisations to submit sites they wish to be considered through the Allocations DPD.The Issues and Options Paper| is the first stage of consultation for the Allocations DPD providing an opportunity to consider the basic underlying issues of each proposed site.
The Allocations DPD is a key document which will identify land for uses such as:

Housing;

Employment;
-
Community facilities;
-
Mixed uses;
-
Open space, recreation and tourism;

Town, local and neighbourhood centres; and
-
Other land uses.
The Allocations DPD will not consider land within the town centre boundaries of Oadby and Wigston this will be done through Town Centre Masterplans.
What has happened so far
The Allocations Document went out for consultation from Friday, 29 June to Friday, 10 August 2007.
