Summary

Supplementary Planning Guidance is prepared by the Borough to assist individuals submitting planning applications. Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) builds upon the policies in the Local Plan, and provides more detailed advice on particular topics or areas. Under the Planning and Compulsary Purchase Act 2004, any new guidance of this type will be known as Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs)|. Our proposals for producing Supplementary Planning Documents are set out in the Local Development Scheme|.

Guidance on Renewable Energy was adopted on 1 July 2004, it clarifies what is expected in any proposal for new development.

Supplementary Planning Guidance on Managing the Supply of New Housing Land was adopted on 16 December 2003. The purpose of this document is to provide detailed planning guidance on the future release of land for housing.
