Communications Strategy 2006 (pdf 214kb)|
Introduction
We recognise the importance of effective communications in the delivery of our services to the community. Communication is a two way process and we will maintain and encourage regular dialogue with residents and stakeholders so that information and ideas are exchanged. The Communications Strategy enables us to communicate, consult and deliver effective high quality services.
This strategy proposes the general principles to carry out effective inclusive communications. It will assist us in assessing and meeting the needs of the local community and in achieving the aims and objectives set out in its service plans.
The strategy provides the framework to ensure all interested stakeholders have an understanding of and are involved in our decision-making processes and that we use all appropriate channels of communication.
The Communications Strategy will be reflected in service plans. We will carry out the day-to-day management of the strategy.
The overall responsibility for successful implementation of the Communications Strategy is with employees and elected Members.
