Allocations Development Plan Document
This page contains information about the Allocations Development Plan Document which is a compulsory document included within the Local Development Framework.
The Allocations Development Plan Document will identify specific sites for particular uses which will deliver the Core Strategy aims and vision. The content of this document will also be illustrated on the Borough Council's Proposals Map.
The Allocation Development Plan Document Process
In January 2007 the Council invited individuals, groups, organisations and other stakeholders to submit sites they wished to be considered through the Allocations Development Plan Document.
The Issues and Options Paper is the first stage of consultation for the Allocations Development Plan Document providing an opportunity to consider the basic underlying issues of each site put forward.
The Allocations Development Plan Document is a key document within the Local Development Framework and identifies land for specific uses, such as:-
- housing;
- employment;
- community facilities;
- mixed uses;
- open space, sport and recreation;
- town, local and neighbourhood centres; and
- other land uses.
The Allocations Development Plan Document will not consider land within the town centre boundaries of Wigston, Oadby or South Wigston as this will be done through the relevant town centre masterplans.
The Allocations Development Plan Document went out for Issues and Options consultation on Friday 29 June to Friday 10 August 2007. The Council are currently considering representations made during this consultation period.
