Benefit Entitlement Calculators

This page contains links to web sites which will enable you to calculate whether you are entitled to any council tax, business rates and housing benefits or tax credits.

You may qualify for help with your Council Tax and rent through Council Tax benefit and Housing benefit. Your entitlement to these benefits depends on your age, income and other circumstances.

All calculations are only estimates and should not be used as a definitive indication of your entitlement to benefits or tax credits. However, they do give an idea of what you may be entitled to claim. Accurate figures must be obtained from your Council or Tax Credits office.

The online calculator is easy to use. Before you start, please make sure that you have the following information ready:

• details of your income - for example, wage slips or any benefits or pensions that you receive,
• details of any bank or savings accounts or other investments,
• the amount of your weekly or monthly rent and Local Housing Allowance, if appropriate and
• the amount of Council Tax that you pay in the current financial year.

If the calculator will not let you answer a question, this may be because of answers you have already given. For example, if you have said that you are a couple, you cannot be a single parent. If you think that you should be answering a question that is locked, please check your previous answers.
