Neighbourhood Management involves targeting services and resources towards areas identified as priority neighbourhoods.

Priority neighbourhood management areas

The Council works with partnership agencies such as the police, education, the health service, the voluntary sector and the local community to identify priority issues in Wigston and South Wigston.

Wigston and South Wigston Neighbourhood Action Team

The Wigston and South Wigston Neighbourhood Action Team represents key agencies who have a resopnsibility to improve priority neighbourhoods. In Wigston the team addresses issues in All Saints and Wigston Fields wards. Projects in Wigston include the Community Safety Flat in Boulter Crescent, Neighbourhood Action weeks and partnership projects addressing identified local needs.

In South Wigston the team addresses issues in the South Wigston ward. Projects include the development of the Bobbin Factory youth wing on Canal Street, development of the Bassett Centre on Bassett Street and diversionary activities against antisocial behaviour on Blaby Road Park.
