People strategy
This page contains information about our aim to promote Oadby and Wigston Borough Council as a good employer. Our role is to deliver a value added service to all users both internal and external.
We continuously aim to promote ourselves as a good employer, develop our people, embrace change and value equality and diversity:
- to develop, review and implement the actions from our People Strategy to underpin our organisational objectives, achieve medium to long-term efficiency savings,
- to provide a full human resource and training advisory service to our elected members and officers in all aspects of employment,
- develop, promote, monitor and review the Investor In People standard and our corporate training and development strategy to ensure our employees have the appropriate knowledge and skill sets to meet all our business needs,
- to maintain existing and develop effective new partnerships with local residents, the business community, the public, voluntary, private sector and other local authorities in order to promote the social economic and environmental well being of the local community and
- work collaboratively with government, external partners and unions to ensure that changes brought about by legislation, directives or conditions of service, are implemented effectively.
