Our Parks

This page gives information on the parks and the recreational facilities located within each park. The Council has 12 parks and sports grounds of varying shapes and sizes spread through out the Borough. Please also visit the Leisure Services page for information on swimming pools and fitness centres in the Borough.

The major parks and leisure facilities are:Peace Memorial Park

Blaby Road Park, South Wigston has:

  • 2 football pitches, 2 play areas, 1 multi activity court

  • 1 cricket square, 1 bowls green, 1 skateboard and BMX area, 1 pavilion

Coombe Park, Oadby has:

  • 3 football pitches, 1 play area, 1 pavilion

Ellis Park, Oadby has:

  • 1 play area, 1 tennis court, 1 bowls green, 1 pavilion

Florence Wragg Way open space has:

  • 1 play area

Foxhollow, Oadby has:

  • 1 play area

Freers Park, Wigston has:

  • 1 play area

Hayes Park, Wigston has:

  • 1 play area

Horsewell Lane Recreation Ground Wigston has:

  • 3 football pitches, 1 play area, 1 pavilion with a room hire facility

Illife Park, Oadby has:

  • 1 play area

London Road, Oadby has:

  • 1 play area at the Morwoods

Meadows open space in Wigston has:

  • 1 play area

Peace Memorial Park in Wigston has:

  • 1 tennis court, 1 multi activity court, 1 bowls green, 1 pavilion

  • The Friends of Peace Memorial Park are delighted and very proud to have been awarded a Green Flag again this year. Peace Memorial Park is Wigston's War Memorial, and the Friends work very hard all year round, in conjunction with Oadby and Wigston Borough Council, to ensure that the Park is maintained as a peaceful green haven in the middle of a very busy Wigston town centre. The Green Flag Award recognises the effort of one and all to cherish and promote the Park for the benefit of all the residents of Wigston.

    • 5 football pitches, 2 cricket squares

    • 2 play areas, basketball nets, 1 pavilion with a room hire facility

    William Gunning Park, South Wigston has:

    • 1 football pitch, 1 play area

    Willow Park, Wigston has:

    • 2 football pitches, 2 play areas, 1 tennis court, 1 multi activity court, 1 skateboard, 1 pavilion

    Brocks Hill Country Park, Oadby has:

    • 1 play area, 1 room hire facility
