Sponsorship

This page contains information about the current sponsorship opportunities in the country park and items which have been sponsored in the past.

Bat boxes (available)

Wooden bat boxes of a standard size to suit most common bats have been sited on suitable trees around the park since our opening in 2001. These have been carefully designed to replicate natural nesting or roosting habitats and are thoughtfully placed to encourage residency. As the woodlands are developing, further opportunities for sponsored bat boxes are arising.

Each bat box costs £35.00: this price covers the box, an engraved plaque with a dedication of your choice, a location map and a sponsorship certificate showing a picture of the box in situ.

Trees

Tree sponsorship has helped build the Country Park that our visitors enjoy today. The Community Orchard, the Oak Avenue, the Winter Wood and the Aylward Arboretum have all been developed with the help of kind sponsors. As the woodland areas develop we are moving into a thinnning programme to manage the woodland habitat, so we can no longer provide sponsorship for trees within the main body of the country park.

Oak tree avenue (available)

Some small oak trees have been planted by our volunteer group in the ridge and furrow field as an extension to the Oak Tree Avenue and some of these are now available for sponsorship.

Each tree costs £100: this price covers a native Pedunculate Oak tree (Quercus robur) an engraved plaque with your dedication, a location map and a sponsorship certificate showing a picture of your tree. Due to the location of the trees and the nature of the farmed land surrounding them, we respectfully ask that the tree itself will serve as the memorial and that no items such as bouquets or other plaques are placed by it.

Bird boxes (not currently available)

Nest boxes to suit a variety of bird species have been sited around the park since our opening in 2001. These have been carefully designed to replicate the bird's natural nesting or roosting habitat and are thoughtfully placed to encourage residency. We have exhausted all suitable sites for bird boxes at the moment but, with the changing habitats within our developing parkland, we will be researching the possibility of encouraging specific species to take up residence at Brocks Hill through the provision of targeted nest boxes.

Benches (not currrently available)

One of the Sponsored Benches at Brocks Hill Country ParkThe majority of benches sited around the park have been provided through our sponsorship scheme. All benches are constructed from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified timber. The FSC has developed a system of forest certification and product labelling that allows consumers to identify wood and wood based products from forests managed in an environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable manner.

The benches have been carefully sited to take into account such issues as grass cutting, ease of maintenance and ensuring access for all. We are currently looking into some new and appropriate seating for the park and are considering the best locations for it so we hope to be offering sponsorship of benches again once we have finished this research.

For further details or if you wish to take up a sponsorship opportunity in the country park, please contact Brocks Hill.
