Taxi driver and operator good practice awards 2012
Following the success of last year's competition, the Council is continuing its good practice award for both taxi drivers and taxi companies and would like you to get involved in deciding which company and which driver should receive an award!
How do I get involved?
We are asking for members of the public to complete nomination forms and give a rating to the borough's taxi drivers and taxi companies for factors such as safe driving, customer service and professionalism to help us find the outstanding performers.
How is it decided?
This feedback will be used by a panel of councillors and licensing officers to decide which driver and company deserve the good practice awards.
Why is it happening?
Councillor Mrs Helen Loydall, the chairman of the Council's Licensing and Regulatory Committee said, "The Licensing and Regulatory Committee at Oadby and Wigston would like to promote these awards which recognises the good practice of our taxi companies and taxi drivers. This award is an ideal way to encourage drivers and companies to aspire to the standards set by our top performers. We would ask members of the public that use taxi services to fill in a nomination form to help find the best company and driver in our borough."
Who is eligible?
Private hire vehicles, private hire operators and Hackney carriages are all eligible for the awards.
How long is the nomination period?
Members of the public will have from 1 February 2012 until 15 June 2012 to submit nomination forms. Forms can be handed directly to a taxi driver or at the reception desk of the main council offices. Alternatively, you can post or email it back to us.
