Plant Galls of Brocks Hill

Join local expert, Chris Leach from the British Plant Gall Society, to learn about this mysterious feature of the countryside. Learn about the causes of plant galls and how to identify them on the field walk.
This event is most suitable for adults and children of 12 years and over and costs £4.00 each. Booking essential. The walk starts at 10:30 am and lasts for 2 hours.

Evening Bat Walk at Brocks Hill Country Park
The centre is fully accessible but there may be uneven ground on the walk in the Park.
Come for an informative talk and then a walk around the Park looking out for these fascinating flying mammals. The walk will be led by local specialists, the Leicestershire and Rutland Bat Group, and is suitable for adults and accompanied children of 12 years and over.
The event will start at 7:30 p.m. and will cost £5.00 per person. Booking is essential. Please wear suitable clothing and bring a torch. Bat detectors will be provided but if you have one, bring it along.

Willow Hurdle Weaving at Brocks Hill Country Park
The centre is fully accessible but there may be uneven ground in the Country Park.
An introductory day course into the traditional countryside craft of willow hurdle weaving. The day will include a demonstration in the field and then a full day practical opportunity. Hopefully within the day you should be able to build two hurdles: one for yourself and one as a lasting legacy in our new amphitheatre.
Tools and protective equipment will be provided on the day. The cost is £35.00 per person and booking is essential.

Fabric printing at Brocks Hill
The centre is fully accessible.
Join us for an evening hand printing your own scarf. We'll work with linocut blocks and lightweight material in this fabric printing workshop. Please wear appropriate clothing for working with paint.
This event is suitable for adults and children of 12 years and over and costs £20.00. All materials will be provided and pre-booking is essential.
