Hedgelaying for beginners at Brocks Hill
An introductory day course into the traditional countryside craft of hedge laying. The day will include an indoor theory session with handouts, followed by a demonstration in the field and a practical opportunity. There will be a free second day on Sunday 9 November to practice the techniques you will have learnt. Handouts provided. Tools and protective equipment provided on the day. Refreshments of hot drinks and biscuits provided.
This day course is suitable for adults and costs £35.00 per person. Booking is essential.
The centre is fully accessible but there may be uneven ground in the park.

The day aims to provide an understanding of the theory behind creating a good pruning cut, as well as a chance to try out skills learnt. The course content includes: the benefits for the trees of pruning; reducing pest and disease risk through healthy cuts; individual species based techniques; and advice on your own pruning dilemmas.
