This is a Permanent Full Time position
We are currently looking to recruit two Development Control Officers to join our busy Development Control Team.
Reporting to the Development Control Manager you will:
•Undertake the efficient and effective co-ordination of development proposals in the form of planning applications and preliminary enquiries.
•Ensure that the processing of development proposals, including site visits are undertaken in an efficient, effective and lawful manner.
•Ensure that all development within the Borough complies with current planning legislation and conditions and that development within the Borough is in line with agreed policy.
•Check the technical adequacy of planning applications and the accompanying fees and assess the need for planning permission before applications are registered and acknowledged.
•Attend Planning Committee and carry out work relating to planning appeals :-
•Liaise with developers and other applicants in pursuit of quality development applications in line with agreed policy.
The ideal candidate will need to be a strong communicator with the ability to work under pressure and with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
You will have a good understanding of the planning framework, and sound knowledge of planning matters including procedures, good practice and legislation.
