Housing Maintenance Officer

Salary: £27,905 - £30,507

This is a Permanent Full Time position

We are looking to recruit a Housing Maintenance Officer to oversee the delivery of day to day maintenance to the Council’s 1200 homes and to prepare any properties that become vacant ready for letting.

The work will involve supervising a mixture of direct labour and established contractors, carrying out pre and post inspections and obtaining quotations where necessary. The work involves direct contact with customers and liaison staff based in our customer services centre who take initial repair calls.

The ideal applicant will:-

· Have a good knowledge of all aspects of property repair and maintenance, including services provided in blocks of flats where facilities are shared and the ability to control and work within budgets.

· Demonstrate a high standard of customer service skills to be able to deal with a diverse range of residents including vulnerable people.

· Have good IT skills as the role involves working on the Orchard housing repairs system.

· Have the ability to manage both direct labour and contractors and will ideally have previously worked in a similar role.

The successful candidate must hold a valid driving license and have access to a suitable vehicle.
