The Cuisine of India restaurant in Oadby played host to the Mayor's annual Charity Curry Night last night (Monday, 13 February) where over a £1,000 was raised for charity.
A raffle combined with all things spicy as The Mayor of Oadby and Wigston, Cllr Robert Eaton presided over the special occasion, helping raise prescious funds for his chosen charity - Leicester Children's Holiday Centre.
Oadby and Wigston's Mayor and Mayoress were joined by other Mayors and dignitry from around the region, Shaun O'Donnell, Chairman of Leicester's Children's Holiday Centre and Glyn Fowkes from South Wigston's Tesco's, who along with other local businneses kindly donated raffle prizes for the gala evening.
It was a fun-filled night, as both the Mayor and Mr O' Donnell explained the great work the charity does for local children in the area. They went on to thank all the contibutors for their ample genersoity and of course, all the staff at The Cusine of India for their excellent hopsitality.
