The Borough of Oadby and Wigston come out on top locally, in a recent piece of research which asks where is the best place to be a woman in Britain? The survey looked at issues such as the gender pay gap, education, happiness, access to green space, and general living and wellbeing.
The research, which looked at the 380 local authorities in Britain, was carried out for BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour.
Out of 380 Local Authorities across Britain, Oadby and Wigston finished in overall 76th place; we finished in 13th place for ‘Wellbeing’ and 53rd place for Safety.
