Remembrance Day Parade and Service

Wigston Remembrance Sunday Service 12th November

The parade will assemble at Bell Street, Wigston, at 10:15am and will move off at 10:30am. Wigston Band will then lead the parade to All Saints Church where all ex-service and other contingents are welcome to parade.

Oadby & Wigston Borough Council politely request that persons who may have difficulty marching please make their own way to the church rather than joining the parade.

After the service, the parade will reassemble outside All Saints Church and return to Bell Street with the Salute being taken at Peace Memorial Park en route.

South Wigston Remembrance Sunday Service 12th November

A service will be held in St Thomas' Church, beginning at 9.45am. This will then be followed by the Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial at around 10.55am which will include the laying of wreaths and the 2 minutes silence. All are very welcome to attend both parts of the service.

Please note that the road will not be closed this year during the Act of Remembrance, so please remain on the pavement and follow any directions given by the Police or stewards.

Oadby Remembrance Sunday Service 12th November

The parade will muster at Rosemead Drive, Oadby at 2.00 pm and will be led by The Pipe Band. All ex-service and other contingents are welcome.

Oadby & Wigston Borough Council politely request that persons who may have difficulty marching please make their own way to the church rather than joining the parade.

After the service, the parade will reassemble outside St Peter’s Church for the wreath-laying. The Parade will then reassemble, proceed up London Road with the Salute being taken at Tipu. The Parade will turn left into Chestnut Avenue for dismissal.
