Oadby and Wigston has been placed in the top 10 most improved places in England to live and work, according to the results from this year's Vibrant Economy Index.
The Borough has moved 66 places over five years, resulting in a top ten place for most improved performance out of the 324 English local authority districts reviewed by the study.
The Vibrant Economy Index measures how areas compare on a range of factors that measure not only economic but also social performance, from prosperity to health, wellbeing and happiness, and inclusion and equality.
On hearing the headline news from the Index, Oadby & Wigston Borough Council Leader, Cllr John Boyce said: “This is pleasing news and I am looking forward to reviewing the full report, so we can continue to develop and promote our Borough as a great place to live and work."
The detailed performance from all the East Midlands areas (including Oadby and Wigston) included in the Vibrant Economy Index 2018 will be fully unveiled in Leicester on 10 May 2018.
