Unitary Proposals: Leader's letter to Nick Rushton

In a recent survey, Borough residents overwhelmingly rejected the County Council’s ‘New model’ unitary authority proposals in a recent survey carried out by Oadby & Wigston Borough Council.

The survey closed on 31 January 2019 and received a total of 477 replies. The survey inidicated that close to nine out of ten residents rejected both of the County Council proposals - confirming feelings that these proposals put forward would not be of benefit to the Borough.

Cllr John Boyce, Leader of Oadby & Wigston Borough Council responded to the survey's results by stating that he was intending to contact Nick Rushton, the Leader of the County Council to share his concerns and confirm our residents' views.
