Newly Refurbished AgeUK Oadby & Wigston Day Care room

Age UK OWAs our population ages, sadly ill health and loneliness increase the need for caring, professional day care.

To answer this need, Age UK Oadby & Wigston have invested over £30,000 refurbishing their Day Care facility and opening the centre for 5 days a week Monday to Friday. With increasing demand and fighting social isolation being at the heart of the charity's remit, it was important for the population of Oadby & Wigston that the service was increased.

A local relative, who's loved one uses the service each week said:

"The WellBeing Day Care facility at Age UK Oadby & Wigston provides a unique high quality service offering person centred care and support to their clients, promoting wellbeing, social inclusion, interaction and life enhancing activities provided by a dedicated team of caring qualified staff and helpers".

Anybody thinking of using the service can go for a free taster session. Each day includes a choice of flavour some, nutritionally balanced lunch with plenty of refreshments provided throughout the day that are frequently refilled. The day includes a variety of activities that are cognitively stimulating, fun, interative and create a lot of smiles and laughter throughout the day. Their well established team of caring professionals ensures everyone is personally cared for.Mayor at Age UK OW Opening

The Day Care Manager, Antoneta Fasulo said:

"We are a small local day care unit compared to many other providers. Our Wellbeing Day Care unit is unique in that we are able to focus on each of our clients giving a personalised individualised approach with dignity, respect and inclusiveness".

The Mayor, Cllr Lynda Eaton, was also in attendance to officially open the newly refurbished facility.
