Council Awarded Prestigious Customer Service Excellence Standard

Oadby and Wigston Borough Council has been awarded the prestigious Customer Service Excellence (CSE) standard.

CSE is the UK’s excellence standard awarded for customer service delivery across the Council. It recognises public or private sector organisations that deliver efficient and effective services and place customers at the heart of their service provision.

Councillor John Boyce, Leader of Oadby and Wigston Borough, congratulated all the staff at the council on their achievement. He said: “Well done to all our council staff who have worked hard to put the people they serve at the heart of what they do. This award shows that work in delivering excellent customer service has been recognised by experts in the field of customer service and demonstrates how much our staff care about making a real difference to our tenants, residents and to our community in general.

To achieve the award, the council has ensured that CSE principles and practices become fully embedded across all our service delivery areas and the standard of service we provide.

As part of the award assessment process, the CSE Assessor talked to residents, partners and staff and concluded that “a corporate commitment to delivering excellent services is clearly evident. The vision of the leaders of the Council endorses this and the commitment has been driven by allowing staff to create values and then work to them.

Service standards including timeliness and quality are monitored and reported in great detail regular for all service areas. The current dashboards reveal that all targets are being met with many exceeding targets.
