Police have arrested a woman following the death of a man in Wigston.
Officers were called to an address in Kingston Avenue at around 8.52pm yesterday (Thursday 11 February) where a man in his 30s was found with a stab wound injury.
Colleagues from East Midlands Ambulance Service attended the scene and the man was pronounced deceased a short time later.
At this stage the death is being treated as suspicious and enquiries into the circumstances remain ongoing with a cordon currently in place at the scene.
A woman, in her 40s, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody where she is being questioned by detectives.
The investigation into the circumstances of the incident are in the very early stages.
Detective Inspector Jenni Heggs from East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU) said: “Our enquiries are at early stage to establish the full circumstances leading up to this incident and how the man sustained his injury.
“Despite being at an early stage of our investigation, we can however confirm we are treating this as an isolated incident and not looking for anyone else in connection with it.
“While we will be speaking to those who live locally as part of our house to house enquiries, it is important that anyone who we don’t speak to and who may have information connected to this incident gets in touch."
