Oadby & Wigston Councillor Robert Eaton passes away

Oadby & Wigston Councillor Robert Eaton sadly passed away on 28 December following a long illness.

Cllr Eaton was elected as councillor in 2011 and was one of the councillors that represented the Wigston Meadowcourt ward.

Councillor John Boyce, Leader of Oadby & Wigston Borough Council, said: “Robert was a quiet, hard-working and highly effective councillor who was passionate about serving his ward and improving lives in his community. He will be sorely missed by us all and our thoughts are with his wife Lynda, and all his family and friends.”

Anne Court, Chief Executive of OWBC, said: “For more than a decade, Councillor Eaton served our communities with passion and dedication and his loss will be felt strongly in our borough. He was also well liked and respected by officers. It is an incredibly sad time, and our thoughts are with his loved ones.”
