Oadby and Wigston residents are being urged to sign up for direct debit to help speed up the payment of a £150 rebate to homes in bands A to D.
The one-off payment will be made by Oadby and Wigston Borough Council on behalf of central government as part of a wider package aimed at supporting families with rising energy bills.
We, like many other councils, are currently awaiting software upgrades from our suppliers to allow us to make the payments. We are not set to receive this software until the middle of April, at which point we will begin testing with a view to making payments as soon as possible.
Please bear with us and look out for further updates.
Households paying their council tax by direct debit will see £150 go directly into their bank account, whilst those who do not pay by direct debit will be contacted by the council with details of how to make a claim.
If you don’t already pay by direct debit, you can sign up quickly and easily on our website
