Shared in support of the Oadby & Wigston Hindu Association
The Oadby and Wigston Hindu Community came together to celebrate the vibrant and joyous festival of Navratri, marking a beautiful display of multiculturalism within the borough. This cherished occasion, significant to Sanatan Dharmics (Hindus) worldwide, was embraced wholeheartedly by the community, showcasing the essence of unity in diversity.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Neil O'Brien, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Minister for Primary Care and Public Health) and MP for Harborough, Oadby and Wigston, for his steadfast support of the faith groups in the borough. Anne Court, Chief Executive for Oadby and Wigston Borough Council, demonstrated her commitment by actively participating in various tasks during the event, underscoring the spirit of togetherness.
Councillor Samia Haq, Leader of Oadby and Wigston Borough Council, and Councillors Kamal Ghattoraya and Naveed Alam, along with PCSO Harks Sanghera, added to the festivities, joining hands with the community in celebration. Their presence exemplifies the shared values that make Oadby and Wigston a vibrant and harmonious multicultural hub.
This year's Navratri celebrations in Oadby and Wigston have illuminated the true essence of multiculturalism at its finest. The community stands as a testament to the power of unity, diversity, and the spirit of togetherness that enriches the fabric of our society.
