Oadby & Wigston Job and Skills Fair

A January Job & Skills Fair will offer a valuable opportunity for residents to find out about local vacancies, connect with potential employers, gain essential skills, and explore career paths.

Oadby & Wigston Borough Council (OWBC) is organising the event and is working with a wide range of employers, providers, trainers and advice services to offer a variety of opportunities to those that attend.

Date: Thursday 23 January

Time: 10am to 12pm

Location: Oadby and Wigston Borough Council, Brocks Hill Council Offices, Washbrook Lane, Oadby, Leicester, LE2 5JJ

Look for: ‘Job Fair’ signage upon entering the country park or via the car park. Attendees can collect a free parking pass from the borough council reception upon arrival.

Attendees can expect to meet local employers offering a diverse range of opportunities in the local area as well as have the opportunity to receive expert career advice, information about setting up a new business and valuable resources about training programmes and similar.

Booking a slot by visiting www.oadby-wigston.gov.uk/jobfair is recommended to guarantee entry. A full list of employers and providers expected to attend is also available on the website.

A photographer will also be available to take free professional photographs of attendees that can then be used for LinkedIn, CVs and recruitment platforms.

Walk-ins are also welcome but entry may be delayed if the building is already at capacity.

Councillor Lee Bentley, Deputy Leader of OWBC, said: “The start of a new year is a great time to host a job & skills fair and I’d encourage all job seekers to take advantage of this opportunity to connect with local employers and enhance their career prospects.”

“As well as employers offering roles and opportunities, there is also the chance to receive career advice, find information about training and volunteering roles in the area, and speak to the Leicestershire Business Advice Service.

“Please spread the word to anyone that might be interested and book your time slot on the website.”

This event is funded by UK Government.
