Economic Regeneration Team

The regeneration team looks to work across both the public and private sectors to drive economic growth in Oadby and Wigston. It is our aspiration that the Borough of Oadby and Wigston is a place where businesses start up, grow and expand. We recognise that, to achieve our economic objectives we need to work closely with our local community, the business community and with key support agencies and funders.

The aims of the Economic regeneration strategy 2015-2020 (PDF Document, 7.82 Mb) are:

Key Functions of the Economic Development Service

  • Project delivery - delivering key regeneration sites.
  • Lead organisation - for employability, worklessness, enterprise and skills.
  • Business development - including, organisation of business seminars in partnership; relationship management with priority businesses and clusters; liaison with business support organisations and the co-ordination of activity and response to investment enquiries.
