Young Citizen of the Year 2020

Oadby & Wigston Borough Council is once again seeking nominations for the title of Young Citizen of the Year.

Nominees must be aged up to 20 years (or up to 25 years with Learning Difficulties or Disabilities) and should have done something for the public good within the Borough. This can be something social, environmental, or of family benefit, or it could be some aspect of their activities or character which sets a high example to others. This activity needs to be unrewarded and the individual must not have previously sought reward or acknowledgement.

Nominations can be made via the following methods;

  • Via Email: Download a copy of the 'Young Citizen of the Year Nomination Form' (found below), complete the form with the requested details and email it to mark.smith@oadby-wigston.gov.uk with the subject line "Young Citizen Nomination 2020".
  • Via Post: Download a copy of the 'Young Citizen of the Year Nomination Form' (found below), complete the form with the requested details and post it to;

Please ensure that any posted forms are marked for the attention of Mark Smith, Community Safety & Youth Officer.

The closing date for nominations is Friday, 17 April 2020. The winner will receive a £100 voucher, a certificate and salver, and be invited to attend the 2020 ‘Mayor Making’ event.

The closing date for nominations is Friday, 19 April 2019. The winner will receive a silver salver to keep forever and they, along with their guest, will attend functions through the year with the Mayor of Oadby and Wigston.
