In 2008 the Planning Policy team produced two documents, in collaboration with consultants, which address development and regeneration within South Wigston.
The South Wigston Regeneration Masterplan (2008) was produced for the Borough Council by planning consultants Taylor Young. The review was undertaken with a view to identifying key sites to be included in the Borough Council's Local Plan Review.
The Blaby Road Park Masterplan Review (2008) was produced for the Borough Council by landscape architects Parklife Ltd. It is an assessment of the current role and function of Blaby Road Park and provides a strategic vision for the future. Consultants William Saunders and Lanarca created a Masterplan on behalf of the Council and subsequently implemented a scheme in 2013.
