It is with deep sadness that Oadby & Wigston Borough Council has learnt of the death of His Royal Highness, The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh on Friday, 9 April 2021.

-

Read the Leader of the Council's Tribute Statement to His Royal Highness, The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

-

As a sign of respect to His Royal Highness, and to minimise the COVID-19 transmission risk, we politely ask that any flowers as tribute be placed in residents’ front gardens and/or windows or businesses’ frontages across the Borough rather than being placed at the Council Offices etc. The Union Flag is being flown at half-mast at the Council Offices on Station Road in Wigston.

-

HM's Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire's Office has made available a virtual Book of Condolence in memory of His Royal Highness. By signing the Book of Condolence, messages will be recorded as part of the County’s historical record.
