Community Health Improvement Officer

Salary: £22,183 to £24,491

This is a Temporary Full Time position

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who will be responsible for improving the health and wellbeing of local residents. The role will have a particular focus on supporting target audiences, who have been disproportionately affected, by both the existing health inequalities in the Borough and the impact of the Covid 19 pandemic.

This will be achieved through the development, coordination, and promotion of a diverse range of and health interventions and campaigns.

The post requires an understanding of both local and national public health priorities and the different methods of engaging individuals to change their behaviours and lead to healthier lifestyles. You will work in partnership with a range of internal teams and external organisations ensuring there is a diverse range of interventions and campaigns in place in order to break down barriers to participation and to improve the health and wellbeing of local residents.

You will have considerable experience in Health Improvement and a relevant qualification in this field. You must also hold a current driving licence and be mobile across Oadby and Wigston. An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check applies to this post.

This position is financed through the external Community Champions Fund and is a fixed term contract until the end of March 2022. Although the post could be extended if additional funding is confirmed.
